Here are a few quick photos of the 123/Mini performance ignition system
The unit fits in the same Lucas clamp and hooks up with just 2 wires straight to the coil.
Vacuum advance is handled through a solid state pressure transducer built into the distributor body. A small brass port is provided for hookup.
Changing between the 16 built-in advance curves is easy, just insert a screwdriver into the hole and select the curve by number.
Setting up the 123/Mini is very simple. Set the engine to TDC on #1, insert the 123/Mini in the correct orientation, connect the red wire to the coil + terminal and, with the ignition switch on, turn the distributor body until the LED shines through the hole in the trigger plate (as shown here). Clamp the distributor body and you're done! |
